Guys…this wedding is a month away!! We are so excited we can hardly stand it. It has been such an amazing experience being a part of this. From the very beginning brainstorming meeting with Brandi and Kristen where this idea was birthed right up to the morning we got to spend with this super fun couple when we shot their engagement photos. I really hope you have fallen in love with them through this process as much as we have! We love these photos because they really do portray the love they have for each other. the genuineness of their personalities. and the fun, quirky spirit of their relationship. Let’s not forget about the super cute styling by none other than Brandi Dunagan with Country Sugar. Here are a few of our faves!

Can’t wait to shoot the big day!

much love,

the girls at Anne Marie Photography.

What an exciting time here at the Entwined 2012 offices!  Our 11 finalists have been waiting on pins and needles for our announcement, and we finally let the world know yesterday who our lucky contestants are that will be competing against one another for the chance to win a $100,000 wedding. Yes, I said ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLAR WEDDING! We have grown and added some stellar wedding professionals along the way. It’s so much fun to collaborate with the best of the best and give something magical to one deserving couple! Don’t forget, voting begins November 1st at www.facebook.com/entwined2012.

One group of professionals that is very busy and completely giddy about the contest are the girls over at Country Sugar Events! Back in August, Style Unveiled sat down with owner, Brandi Dunagan, to learn a little more about what they are all about! You can read the original article here, but for now cozy up and get ready to fall in love with Entwined’s wedding design and coordination team!

Q: What does being involved in Entwined 2012 mean to you?

A:  Wow…where do I start? It’s amazing to be able to create a wedding masterpiece with all of our involved wedding professionals. Everyone is bringing their “a” game and not holding anything back. When given creative freedom, everyone can truly come up with something spectacular. It’s also so much fun to read these applications that are coming in. Just knowing that we could be reading one of the winners! It makes me giddy just thinking about meeting our bride and groom!

Q:  What are you most looking forward to from now until March 31, 2012?

A:  Oh my goodness…planning the details!! With two fully stylized weddings there is TONS to go over…but the process will be so much fun because of the people I get to work with. Meetings with florists, lighting, stationery, sweets, rentals…it really doesn’t end. There is so much work that goes into this, but the payoff is all worth it…getting to see someone enjoy all the fruits of our labor.

Q:  What do you love most about this group of wedding pros that are involved in Entwined 2012?

A:  I love that everyone brings something to the table, and I love how enthusiastic every person is about their area of expertise. We are all working within a certain design and style, but each creative wedding professional puts their individualized touch on everything they do. Each artist involved brings a little more to the plate than any of us could have ever imagined. That’s the best part…the unexpected genius that keeps popping up everywhere.

Q:  What is your main focus on the day of a wedding?  What do you hold priority over everything else?

A:  My main focus with this wedding and with every other wedding we do is to make sure that logistics, timing, and setup of the styled vision do not cross the brides’ mind. That she is able to truly relax, enjoy time with her family and friends, and enjoy her wedding day. While she is busy making memories Country Sugar Events is busy orchestrating the wedding. A wedding planner is a lot like that…like the conductor for an amazing symphony orchestra. We would have nothing without those amazing professionals and artists involved, but to make true music of that caliber you need someone to bring it all together.

Q:  What do you love about weddings?  What keeps you passionate?

A:  The tears at the altar, the choked up father of the bride, the first dance, the toasts, the first kiss, father-daughter dance, the beginning of something amazing …

We love weddings because of what they stand for: love, commitment, honesty, and eternity. Then there’s my favorite bittersweet part of the day: We stage everyone for the exit outside and it’s just me, the bride and the groom waiting behind. We hug. I tell them congrats and ‘thank you’ for allowing me to be one part of their oh-so lovely day. Everyone gets a little choked up. I mean for some of these brides I have spent the last year with them! Meetings, emails, phone calls, calming any jitters, encouragement, laughter, tears, and more laughter. We have become friends and I know that after that day they will slip back into their normal lives {now a wonderful married life} and we won’t speak as often. That part makes me sad…but the happy outweighs it. The happy comes knowing that their day was special to them and came through as they envisioned. THAT keeps me passionate about what I do. We are best friends to happy brides

So the Save the Dates were mailed months ago and you just popped your Invitations in the mail. What’s next?!

Bring your big day full circle by using coordinating paper goods throughout the event. Little details like table numbers, escort cards, favor tags, menus, maps, personalized signage, and more, can make any wedding all the more special. We work with you and your wedding planner to develop the perfect pieces for your day–pieces that complement the design of the event, your colors, your venue, and most importantly, YOU.

At Lilly & Louise, we believe that when it comes to designing paper goods for your wedding, the opportunities to make your day a memorable experience are truly endless!

Lighting is often considered an after-thought based on remaining budget for a wedding. In wanting to maximize the effectiveness of your budget spent on the other items I would suggest that lighting is actually a necessary item to highlight those other items such as floral centerpieces, room decor, dessert tables and even the bride and groom’s cakes. Lighting is not always needed in a color to accent such as in up-lights. When lighting cakes or centerpieces we suggest the light source be white light to be sure we are actually bringing out the inherent beauty and artistry of the cake or floral centerpiece for that matter. At times I may suggest a slight tint of lavender or amber to accentuate a particular color present and lend itself more to a magical feel. Lighting does not have to always be full of vibrant color but rather be full of subdued accents and suggestions of drama. As always, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it is our job as lighting designers to deliver that interpretation while remaining true to the core of the design of the bride’s wishes.

Here is the same venue shown with the same lights but with different looks.

You can see that from the unlit photo what the venue look like naturally.

Then we add a layer of champagne color,

next photo has a layer of pink color,

and finally the last photo shows a multi-color combination.

Each is quite different and transforms the same venue completely.

Details, details, details. We just cannot get enough of them! They make every little piece and part of your wedding unique, they make the simplest of things extraordinarily special and they truly give your guests such a good sense of your style. This in turn creates an experience for your family, wedding party and guests that is extremely personal and unlike any other they have experienced before.

Every bride has a dress and a pair of shoes, every groom has a boutonniere, every ceremony is filled with love and every reception is oozing with decor of some sort. So, how do you make all of these general things unique and lovely? DETAILS.

Just as details serve as an element of surprise for your guests, as your photographer we are treasuring each little thing and embracing the surprises as well. The reason we LOVE to photograph a wedding with good details is because it makes for some really interesting photographs and makes for a fun day behind the lens as well. So, embellish and spruce up all of those general things that weddings include. Express yourself and choose those funky hot pink shoes or not-so-typical boutonnieres. Even the most simple things can serve the purpose of a detail, such as your shoe choice or bow-tie pattern.

Be bold and let your personality shine. Your guests will enjoy and so will we!

AND just as a side note, your wedding stands a greater chance of being featured on snazzy blog like Style Me Pretty or Style Unveiled if you have details galore, so be creative and get to work on something special for your wedding day. Your photographers will love you and your wedding!

Food has been associated with love since the beginning of time~ love apple, love pear. Foods such as oysters and chocolate are claimed to have aphrodisiac properties. Movies including Chocolat, Tortilla Soup, and Like Water for Chocolate have been made associating food with the most fascinating loves and lovers. Most importantly, the simple act of preparing food to nourish a loved one expresses spiritual love.

Food ignites passion, seduction and spirituality like nothing else. A carefully created and prepared menu of foods bursting with color, texture and flavor will be yours when you win the Entwined 2012 wedding day. Your passion will be expressed with fire, nature and water. Organic, locally produced ingredients will nourish and nurture your guests as they celebrate your union with joy and excitement.

What is your party personality? As an event coordinator and stylist, I am always ready to dive into the details that make you unique. At Oh Goodie Designs, I pride myself on getting to know each and every client as a friend. This helps during the planning process and helps me to define how your event will be seen by others, your guests.

This 50th birthday celebration was centered around pink as the birthday girl’s favorite color and as you can see it matched her vivacious personality. This framed quote by Audrey Hepburn reminded me of the birthday girl and kept me focused on the big picture. It became our centerpiece of the evening.

Your guests will be taken in by the atmosphere when they can relate knowing your event reflects you and your style.
My favorite comments are always the ones that say ” You nailed her personality on the head!” or “How were you able to get to know her so well and capture her personality in this party?”

You will feel better too knowing you are shining through. After all, we are there to celebrate you!

As the lucky winners of the Entwined 2012 wedding, you get to choose which theme best reflects your personalities. Then it will be styled and every detail planned with YOU in mind.

Oh Goodie Designs can’t wait to meet and get to know the lucky winners of this great giveaway! I look forward to the details of you. How will you allow me to let your personality shine through on your big day?

Snail Mail, You Know You Love It

These days, snail mail may seem old fashioned. With the price of postage increasing every other year–it seems–and technology advancing faster than you can say terabyte, it only makes sense to use all the electronic sources available to us to send information from point A to point B. But take just a second to remember the anticipation you once had when checking the mailbox. Thumbing through the glossy advertisements for more airline miles and restaurant coupons, you spot an envelope with a handwritten address and a stamp–a real stamp! You study it, admiring the foreign object like it’s arrived from the past via time machine. This moment of joy is also filled with anticipation to see what’s inside. Is it a letter from a dear friend? A hand-crafted invitation to a special celebration? Perhaps it’s a newspaper clipping from your mom…

The beauty of a great piece of mail is the experience. We notice its texture, its weight, the delicate handwriting, perhaps its smell, or the care that was taken to create it, and we take a moment [or two] to appreciate it. At Lilly & Louise, our main focus is creating that very experience. Think about it, for your guests, your invitation is the beginning of their experience of your wedding. It will leave an impression and give them a taste of what’s to come, not only logistically with the details, but stylistically as it’s a reflection of you and all the details of your upcoming day!

With all this talk about beautiful snail mail, we at Lilly & Louise also know that conserving natural resources like trees is very important, so we work with papers that have high post-consumer waste content and/or recycled content, and even tree-free 100% cotton papers. We also work with printers who use organic vegetable-based inks. And, if you ever order something from us, you’ll notice that the box in which you receive your product is most likely reused– even down to the packing material. We try our darnedest to reduce, reuse, and recycle while still delivering top notch, one-fo-a-kind designs.
