Well unless you’ve been living under a rock or some other massive stationary object…then I’m sure you’ve heard that Annie and Tyler of Houston, Texas won the Entwined 2012 wedding giveaway! We are so excited for Annie and Tyler and even more excited to get the planning and festivities rolling! It’s been amazing to watch the outpouring of love and positivity from Annie and Tyler’s family and friends, the fans of Entwined, and our 10 remaining contestants. The positivity displayed by each of our contestants did not come as a surprise. We hand-picked each of our contestants, narrowed from a pool of over 150 entries! Each couple was chosen because they had a great story. Through tears, laughter, and warm fuzzies we felt confident that we chose 11 amazing couples.
From the moment we opened the contest on October 31st, until the final minutes of voting last night, our final couples strived to capture as many votes as possible! Family, friends, and even strangers became flag wavers for their favorite couple to win! Here’s a little breakdown of the final numbers:

Entwined loves all of our amazing wedding professionals involved in this giveaway too. We love them even more for what they are offering our remaining contestants who didn’t win. Many of our vendors are offering DEEPLY discounted services as a gesture of kindness to the remaining ten and a reward for their good work! We have also been approached by various wedding vendors that can feel the love and want to join in the fun! We will be passing along some fun news to some of our contestants in the next few weeks. We wish them all lifetimes of happiness and joy centered around a blessed marriage!
We were also so moved by some of our contestants that pledged to give to charitable organizations should they win the Entwined wedding. In an effort to keep their wishes and passions at the forefront, we have added a page to our website with direct links to give to our contestants’ various charities! If you still feel passionate and want to show your couple support, now you can!
Overall, we are in awe of the troops each contestant gathered and the love pouring in from all over! We are so delighted that Annie and Tyler are to begin their journey with us at Entwined. What an exciting time here at the Entwined 2012 offices! Our 11 finalists have been waiting on pins and needles for our announcement, and we finally let the world know yesterday who our lucky contestants are that will be competing against one another for the chance to win a $100,000 wedding. Yes, I said ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLAR WEDDING! We have grown and added some stellar wedding professionals along the way. It’s so much fun to collaborate with the best of the best and give something magical to one deserving couple! Don’t forget, voting begins November 1st at www.facebook.com/entwined2012.
One group of professionals that is very busy and completely giddy about the contest are the girls over at Country Sugar Events! Back in August, Style Unveiled sat down with owner, Brandi Dunagan, to learn a little more about what they are all about! You can read the original article here, but for now cozy up and get ready to fall in love with Entwined’s wedding design and coordination team!
Q: What does being involved in Entwined 2012 mean to you?
A: Wow…where do I start? It’s amazing to be able to create a wedding masterpiece with all of our involved wedding professionals. Everyone is bringing their “a” game and not holding anything back. When given creative freedom, everyone can truly come up with something spectacular. It’s also so much fun to read these applications that are coming in. Just knowing that we could be reading one of the winners! It makes me giddy just thinking about meeting our bride and groom!
Q: What are you most looking forward to from now until March 31, 2012?
A: Oh my goodness…planning the details!! With two fully stylized weddings there is TONS to go over…but the process will be so much fun because of the people I get to work with. Meetings with florists, lighting, stationery, sweets, rentals…it really doesn’t end. There is so much work that goes into this, but the payoff is all worth it…getting to see someone enjoy all the fruits of our labor.
Q: What do you love most about this group of wedding pros that are involved in Entwined 2012?
A: I love that everyone brings something to the table, and I love how enthusiastic every person is about their area of expertise. We are all working within a certain design and style, but each creative wedding professional puts their individualized touch on everything they do. Each artist involved brings a little more to the plate than any of us could have ever imagined. That’s the best part…the unexpected genius that keeps popping up everywhere.
Q: What is your main focus on the day of a wedding? What do you hold priority over everything else?
A: My main focus with this wedding and with every other wedding we do is to make sure that logistics, timing, and setup of the styled vision do not cross the brides’ mind. That she is able to truly relax, enjoy time with her family and friends, and enjoy her wedding day. While she is busy making memories Country Sugar Events is busy orchestrating the wedding. A wedding planner is a lot like that…like the conductor for an amazing symphony orchestra. We would have nothing without those amazing professionals and artists involved, but to make true music of that caliber you need someone to bring it all together.
Q: What do you love about weddings? What keeps you passionate?
A: The tears at the altar, the choked up father of the bride, the first dance, the toasts, the first kiss, father-daughter dance, the beginning of something amazing …
We love weddings because of what they stand for: love, commitment, honesty, and eternity. Then there’s my favorite bittersweet part of the day: We stage everyone for the exit outside and it’s just me, the bride and the groom waiting behind. We hug. I tell them congrats and ‘thank you’ for allowing me to be one part of their oh-so lovely day. Everyone gets a little choked up. I mean for some of these brides I have spent the last year with them! Meetings, emails, phone calls, calming any jitters, encouragement, laughter, tears, and more laughter. We have become friends and I know that after that day they will slip back into their normal lives {now a wonderful married life} and we won’t speak as often. That part makes me sad…but the happy outweighs it. The happy comes knowing that their day was special to them and came through as they envisioned. THAT keeps me passionate about what I do. We are best friends to happy brides

We at Elitevp – Cinematic Weddings are proud to be Texans, so we thought “what better to blog about than this great state!” So, here it is . . . the Top 10 reasons to get married in Texas:
#10. The Weather! Since Texas is so large, the climate varies from one end of the state to the next, but Central Texas is just amazing, especially in the Spring!
#9. The Scenery. So unique is the hillcountry that a few years back National Geographic Magazine sent its photographers to this wonderful state for an article they called . . . you guessed it “Texas Hill Country.” It showcased the people, scenery, and Texas wildflowers. I still have that issue on my bookshelf!
Side Note (Had to throw this in!): Click HERE for one of my all-time favorite ads (from a production and storytelling perspective) directed by one of my cinematography heroes, Jeff Bednarz of Directorz’s! If that doesn’t make you want to hop in the car and enjoy Texas, I don’t know what will!
#8. The Fun. Texas has it all, and the Central Texas region is no exception! There’s just a ton to do. Don’t jet immediately after the event! Spend a little time soaking it all in. Take in a little lake time, float on the Guadalupe River at Gruene, enjoy some Texas BBQ, visit a few historic districts, or just take a drive. Even if you aren’t the lucky winner, you MUST make your way down to Canyon Lake – not too far and you’ll find yourself in Wimberly, Gruene, or Marble Falls – great places to just chill. You won’t be disappointed!
#7. The Culture. We are extremely lucky to live in a nation with such great diversity, and Texas is a fine example. From the annual German Wurstfest celebration in New Braunfels to Mexican Fiesta in historic downtown San Antonio, you don’t have to drive far to enjoy the rich culture that makes Texans who we are! What a great atmosphere for tying the knot!
#6. The People. It never gets old hearing new Texans or visitors say “everyone’s just so friendly here!” It’s true, especially of Texas wedding vendors and their staff!
#5. Food! We have the pleasure of serving up a little Sullivan Street Catering on March 31, 2012. But, even aside from this amazing event, hillcountry dining choices are limitless. A couple that come to mind in Central Texas are The Gristmill (Gruene, TX) and Black’s BBQ (Lockhart, TX). When in doubt, Yelp!
#4. Music. The Entwined 2012 event is proud to have The Vintage 15 as part of the event. Texas music is like no other! Anyone who’s listened to a concert at Gruene Hall will tell you that Texas country is something else!
#3. The Venues. Obviously, the Studio at Fischer rocks! On our first visit to the studio, it was immediately clear that this was no ordinary venue. It’s definitely one of those “personality-infused” choices described by Brandi at Country Sugar. With a dedicated mega photo backdrop, lighting, etc. it has a style all its own (I can’t wait to see this place transform into pure wedding goodness on March 31, 2012!). Country Sugar and Statue of Design will definitely have their way with this place (And that’s a good thing!).
#2. The Talent. Peruse any popular wedding directories (Style Unveiled, Stylemepretty, Wedding Photojournalist Association, etc.) and you’ll find a TON of wedding talent from this great state! In fact, many Texas wedding vendors are consistently hired for destination work in other states and countries! During our recent Inspiration Shoot, we had the pleasure of previewing a small sample of the amazing talent that will be displayed on March 31, 2012. But needless to say, Texas wedding vendors definitely rock on multiple levels!
…and the #1 Reason to Get ‘Entwined’ in Texas is…
#1. Entwined 2012! You can win it and enjoy all of the above for free!!
